I am thrilled to see that the author of our favorite history CDs (not to mention the incredible “Story of Mary” CDs) is a TLM guy! I wholeheartedly agree with your essay. Keep pumping out history CDs, and consider adding stories of the saints, too! We live in the country and drives to town or to mass take anywhere from 30 min to 1 hr 15 min, and having CDs to listen to makes the drive positively pleasant. My very young children retain well your excellent narratives.
I was a seminarian in Lansing, so I don’t take these issues lightly. The difficulty for me has been that even granting everything you’ve said about the errors, it still doesn’t seem to resolve who concretely has the mission to act in the Church’s name.
Acting in "the Church's" name is distinct from acting as a Catholic to promote Catholicism. Even Vatican II says it is the job of the laity to defend, explain, and promote Catholic teaching. It could be argued that the surge in lay-run Catholic media we are seeing today is, paradoxically, fulfilling what Vatican II envisioned for the laity.

Ah this is such a nice message It's a pleasure to see you here : )) Please give my regards to the kiddos, and I will do my best to pump it out.
Incidentally, re: stories of the saints, have you checked out my two books on Padre Pio and St. Genevieve, both from TAN?

That distinction avoids the point—promoting Catholicism isn’t the same as being sent to act in the Church’s name.
Well said sir. These details are not elaborated on frequently and they need to be. Keep up the great work!
